Friends= blessing!

The past few days have been crammed full of fun!

Thursday night we rented Fireproof and a bunch of fun friends came over to watch it and bake cookies! Then Vince, Casie, Wes, Ryne and I took a small study break/road trip to Vicksburg to hang out for a few hours! We got to sit on the hill and look over the river for a bit...

Friday afternoon was Oozeball!
Since we're all in nursing school, our team name was "The Big Shots"... with members Lidocaine Lyles, Morphine McKoin, Flonase Freeland, Prozac Parker, Paxil Piazza, and K-Dur Kessler!

We also got a funny picture of all of the level 2ers together!
Friday night Jess and I invited some fun girls over for
craft night!
Recipe to a night of fun: magazine clippings, scissors, pipe cleaners, stickers, construction paper, buttons, glitter, paint, and a little bit of glue! (oh, and cookie dough, cheesecake casserole!!)

Albertine

I am sitting still
I think of Angelique
her mothers voice over me
And the bullets in the wall where it fell silent
And on a thousandth hill, I think of Albertine
there in her eyes what I don't see with my own
Rwanda

Now that I have seen, I am responsible
Faith without deeds is dead
now that I have held you in my own arms, I cannot let go till you are

I am on a plane across a distant sea
But I carry You in me
and the dust on, the dust on, the dust on my feet
Rwanda

Now that I have seen, I am responsible
Faith without deeds is dead
now that I have held you in my own arms, I cannot let go till you are

I will tell the world, I will tell them where I've been
I will keep my word
I will tell them Albertine

Now that I have seen, I am responsible
Faith without deeds is dead
now that I have held you in my own arms, I cannot let go till you are

I am on a stage, a thousand eyes on me
I will tell them, Albertine

Wilderness

"Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert these forth years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands." -Deuteronomy 8:2

So God brings us into the wilderness to humble us and to reveal our hearts to us. Usually the Biblical references to 'wilderness' are negative: it’s a place of thirst, hunger, deprivation, etc. At the same time, though, there are signs of God using this time in the wilderness to romance us, and draw us closer to Him. Quite often prophets wandered in the wilderness to be “tested” or “tempted,” thus making the wilderness a place of spiritual renewal. I looked up what the word "wilderness" means. The Hebrew word is pronounced mid-bawr and the Greek word er-ay-mos. Both of them are used to describe a wasteland, but they are both also used to describe a very good place to pasture sheep.

I think that God is leading me through a 'wilderness' stage. He is in the process of revealing my own heart to me and showing me how it all goes into His plan for my life.

I don't understand how it all fits, but I surely don't want to miss it!

Counting it all joy!

"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you are faced with trials and tribulations, for the testing of your faith develops perseverance!" (James 1:2-4)

Right now I'm re-learning how to COUNT IT ALL JOY.

Last week was a stress-filled week crammed full of 6 a.m. clinicals and non-stop studying. We had our second theory test on Friday. Here's what my living room looked like all week long:
(i'm sure my roommates just LOVED it!)I'm learning to be thankful for the opportunity to become a nurse.
And very thankful this is only for a season! :)
Counting it all joy... even in the midst of stress!

One of my favorite parts of Spring semester is always disciple now!
This weekend: FBC Ferriday and an interesting, crazy time!
... and more learning to count it all joy!

Tomorrow holds much excitement:
1. Instead of working the floor during clinicals, it's my week to go to endo! I suppose it may sound strange, but I really am excited to see what it's all about!
2. New album release! This time tomorrow I'll be jammin out to the new Kelly Clarkson cd! :)
